SHINE: Be The Light

Matthew 5: 14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.”

This monthly theme…BE THE LIGHT always reminds me of my childhood summers at VBS where we sang the song “This Little Light of Mine.” In preparation for this newsletter, and with the help of Youtube…I was reminded of all the silliness that accompanied this song. We were actually able to yell inside the sanctuary, What?! Yes, and there were NO consequences. Yes, I’m old-churches are much more informal today-Yay!!!

So as I’m listening to these little voices sing proudly, knowing full well they are likely performing for this uploaded rendition, I am still super impressed. Such innocence, such confidence, and such faith! Listen as you recall these verses that are simply sandwiched between the chorus of “Let it shine; let it shine; let it shine.”

CALL TO ACTION
